Is Laborjack insured?

Absolutely! Laborjack carries a general liability policy for your safety and protection. All Laborjack workers are background checked, vetted, reviewed, and insured.

What types of work does Laborjack complete?

Laborjack specializes in moving, home projects, and staffing for general labor positions. Think of Laborjack as your go-to for any job that requires an extra strong set of hands (or many strong sets of hands). Laborjack crew sizes range from 1 on smaller projects, to teams of more than 50 for larger events and projects.

If you are seeking help on a recurring basis, or even need help with one specific event or project, Laborjack provides a seamless solution to get you the general labor help you need. This could be day labor, general construction or demolition, loading dock help, or an odd job.

Assistance in assembling/disassembling items

Absolutely! As long as the tools and instructions are provided, our Laborjacks are extremely capable of assembling or disassembling furniture and appliances. However, the more prepared you are for your moving date, the less time we will be on the clock to save you money.

Does Laborjack provide equipment for my job?

It depends! For moving jobs, we offer full service packages with a truck, dolly, and moving pads; but you can also select the labor only option. Additional tools or equipment for any job must be provided for the Laborjack to complete the task. We then provide the strong backs to help accomplish your task.

How is payment handled?

Our secure Stripe Payments system ensures your personal information is safe. Payment is due after the job's completion, so any job can be booked for $0 down. Checkout takes place via a smartphone after the job is completed. We provide invoicing options for business staffing.

Last-minute bookings?

Absolutely! We often accommodate last-minute requests without additional charges. However, we recommend booking as far in advance as possible to guarantee availability. We will always try our best to get you help but cannot guarantee a crew if the job was booked within 48 hours.

How do I estimate how long my job will take?

When in doubt, overestimate. You'll only be charged for the actual hours worked. As a general guideline moves involving a load and unload typically take 4 hours. Still unsure? Give us a call! Our team of customer support are happy to help guide you.

What about pricing?

Our transparent pricing starts with a 2-hour minimum. After that, billing occurs in convenient 15-minute increments. All billing is based on a preset hourly rate without any outside fees or charges unless specified prior. Specific rates depend on the job type, we aim to be an affordable and reliable option for all of our services.

Concern about transportation costs?

You're only billed for the time we spend on-site, and transportation between job locations. For locations beyond 15 miles from our primary cities, a mileage-based fee might apply. Call us to learn more about options for hiring a Laborjack team.

Preparing for your Laborjack job.

We recommend having everything ready before our arrival, especially for moving tasks. For labor only moving services, you are required to have all the proper equipment, tools, and protective materials to ensure your move goes well. We are always happy to help answer any questions prior to job day about what to expect.

I need to modify an existing reservation.

Unforeseen circumstances arise, and we pride ourselves on our ability to work to find a time that best accommodates your schedule. There is no penalty for rescheduling or changing details on an existing job reservation, however job changes must be made at least two hours before the job start time. We are always willing to work with you to the best of our ability.

I need to cancel an existing reservation.

Please cancel 48 hours ahead of a scheduled job time to avoid fees. Cancellations within 48 hours incur a fee, and cancellations within 2 hours of the job start are billed at a 2-hour minimum for each Laborjack.

Can I change my credit/debit card after booking?

Of course! During the post-job checkout, you can change your payment method effortlessly with your Laborjack.

Can I tip my Laborjacks?

Tipping is not mandatory, but always appreciated! If you feel your crew went above and beyond. Tips can be added as a percentage during the checkout process or provided in cash. 100% of tips go directly to our hard working crews.

Who will my Laborjacks be?

Once your booking is confirmed, we’ll introduce you to your team of Laborjacks via email, complete with names, bios, and photos so there are no surprises about who shows up on job day! All Laborjacks are background checked, vetted, and eager to help you complete a variety of tasks.

How many Laborjack's should I reserve for my job?

The number of Laborjacks we suggest depends primarily on the type of work. For moving jobs, we are happy to discuss crew size over the phone, but typically suggest between 2-6 person crews depending on the size of the home. For all other jobs and larger events, feel free to estimate yourself or call our client success team for further details on crew size.

What do I need to become a Laborjack?

To join the Laborjack team, applicants must be reliable, physically fit, possess a positive attitude, pass a background check, and be dedicated to providing outstanding service. You must also have reliable transportation and own a smartphone to use our app. We're looking for individuals who enjoy teamwork and have a genuine desire to help others.

How does the application process work?

Joining Laborjack is easy and straightforward. Complete the online application, pass a background check, attend a brief virtual interview to show that you’re Laborjack material! Once approved, log into the app and you'll be part of our team! No lengthy paperwork or prolonged wait times.

Do I need any prior experience?

While experience in moving, landscaping, or general labor is beneficial, it isn't a requirement. We do expect you to watch a short video to familiarize yourself with how to pack a truck correctly. Confidence ,a strong work ethic, and the ability to learn quickly over previous job experiences will serve you well!

How flexible is the job?

One of the benefits of working with Laborjack is the flexibility it offers. Choose the jobs that fit your schedule. It's perfect for students, part-time job seekers, or anyone looking to earn extra income on their terms.

How does payment work?

Laborjacks are compensated competitively. Payments are processed daily upon job completion through the app - with the ability to earn tips from satisfied customers. Details about hourly rates will be discussed during the onboarding process.

Will I receive any emails regarding my move?

You will receive three emails from Laborjack:
-The first confirming your booking including the details of your job containing the date, time, location, number of Laborjacks, and estimated total which will arrive after completing a booking.
- The second introduces you to your Laborjacks; it will include the name(s), bio(s), and photo(s) of your team and will arrive around 7pm the night before your job is scheduled to take place.
- The third email comes after the job is complete and acts as a receipt for your purchase. There is also an option to leave us feedback about your experience!

What do I do if one of my belongings is damaged during moving day?

Stuff happens - In the unfortunate event of damage that occurs during a job, please contact our client success team via email: support@laborjack.com. All damage must be reported within 72 hours of the job and you will be sent a damage claim form to fill out and start the process. Please also view our Terms of Service to learn more about our policies regarding damage claims.

How do you handle jobs in inclement weather?

Safety is our priority. If the weather conditions are deemed unsafe for our Laborjacks or for your project, we'll work with you to reschedule the job for a safer time.

Do you offer services during holidays?

Laborjack operates on most days, but availability on holidays might be limited. It's always best to book in advance if you require services on or around a holiday.

Are there any jobs you won't accept?

While we cover a broad range of labor services, we do not accept jobs that are illegal, unsafe, or outside the expertise of our Laborjacks. If you're unsure, please reach out to our support team to discuss the specifics of your project.

Do Laborjacks undergo background checks?

Absolutely. The safety of our customers is paramount. All Laborjacks undergo a comprehensive background check before joining our platform.

What's the best way to get in touch if I have a unique job request?

We’re always here to help! If you have a unique or specific job request, it’s best to call us directly or send us an email detailing your needs. Our support team will guide you accordingly.

Can I request the same Laborjack for future jobs?

Yes, if you had a great experience with a particular Laborjack, you can request them for future jobs. Feel free to mention them by name when you book online or call our support team to let them know.
